Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

Your family's privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Brain Break Kids ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you or your child uses the Brain Break Kids application (the "App"). We designed the App with children in mind, and we take our obligations under children's privacy laws very seriously.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to all users of the Brain Break Kids App, including children under 13 (whose use is only permitted with verifiable parental consent) and the parents or guardians who supervise them.

2. Information We Collect

We are committed to minimal data collection. Here is what we may collect:

  • Device information: Operating system version, device model, and app version — used solely for crash diagnostics and compatibility improvements.
  • Usage data (anonymous): Which game levels are played and session duration, collected in aggregated, non-identifiable form to improve the App.
  • Crash reports: Anonymised error logs sent automatically when the App crashes, containing no personal information.

We do not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, or contact details.
  • Location data.
  • Photos, microphone, or camera data.
  • Social media profiles or identifiers.
  • Payment or financial information.

3. How We Use Information

The limited data we collect is used exclusively to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the App.
  • Diagnose technical problems and prevent crashes.
  • Understand which content children enjoy so we can make more of it.

We do not use data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond improving the App.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Brain Break Kids complies fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. The App does not require children to create an account, enter personal details, or communicate with other users.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has inadvertently provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately through our contact form and we will delete that information promptly.

Verifiable Parental Consent: Where required by COPPA, we obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information from a child. Parents may review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child's personal information by contacting us.

5. GDPR Compliance (European Users)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we process data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable national laws.

  • Legal basis: We process anonymous technical data based on our legitimate interest in maintaining a functional, safe application.
  • Your rights: You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of any personal data we hold. You also have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
  • Data transfers: Where data is processed outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.
  • Retention: Anonymous crash and usage data is retained for no longer than 12 months.

To exercise any of your rights, contact us through our contact form.

6. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data. We may share limited anonymised data with:

  • Service providers: Trusted third-party analytics and crash-reporting providers who are contractually bound to process data only as directed by us and to maintain appropriate security standards.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. The App does not transmit or store identifiable personal data on our servers. Where data is transmitted, it is encrypted in transit using TLS.

8. Cookies & Tracking

Brain Break Kids does not use cookies or any cross-app tracking technologies. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID) for any advertising purpose.

9. Third-Party Links

The App does not currently include links to external websites. If this changes in a future version, links to third-party sites will be clearly marked and parents will be notified in advance through an update notice.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage parents to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
